I purchased a 2026 Forest River Sabre 37RVMILES expecting a quality fifth wheel, especially considering the price tag of nearly $100,000. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing but disappointing.
From the beginning, it’s been clear that this RV was built with appearance taking priority over quality. It looks great on the dealer’s lot, but once you start living in it, the shortcomings become impossible to ignore.
Temperature control is one of the biggest issues. The coach is extremely difficult to keep comfortable because there are air leaks throughout the unit. It freezes during the winter and becomes unbearably hot in the summer, despite having dual air conditioners. To make matters worse, the air conditioners are incredibly loud.
The list of quality problems has continued to grow:
* Closet doors constantly fall out of their tracks.
* The couch is made from cheap materials, and the slide design requires partially disassembling the couch every time the slide needs to come in.
* The outside sprayer water line blew apart and had to be repaired.
* The toilet plumbing was installed incorrectly and required modification.
* The auto-leveling system has repeatedly failed with error codes, forcing me to manually level the trailer using the emergency hand tool.
* One of the slides leaked water into the coach, soaking the floor before it was repaired.
* Drawers won’t stay closed while traveling.
* Numerous air leaks throughout the coach make heating and cooling inefficient and expensive.
What makes all of this especially frustrating is that these aren’t isolated issues—they reflect a pattern of poor design, inadequate quality control, and cheap materials.
This is my third RV, and it is, without question, the worst one I have ever owned. I have owned less expensive RVs that were built significantly better than this one.
A fifth wheel approaching $100,000 should deliver quality, reliability, and thoughtful engineering. Instead, this one feels like a $20,000 trailer with luxury finishes covering up serious construction flaws.
If I could sell it today without taking a huge financial loss, I would. Based on my experience, I would not purchase another Forest River product, nor would I recommend one to anyone considering a fifth wheel in this price range.
Forest River needs to focus less on making these units look impressive on the showroom floor and more on building RVs that can actually withstand real-world use.
