General FAQs

Individuals can place ads for their RVs using our Place an Ad feature. Click on the “Sell My RV” link on the homepage or on the left-hand side of any page and the forms will walk you through the process. Dealers are invited to use our Dealer Tool to start selling today as well.

  • To load a photo onto our site, the first step is to prepare it using the photo editor that comes with your digital camera or scanner.
  • Edit out unnecessary background and size the image so that it is no more than 5mb (megabytes).
  • Then, under the File menu on the editor, click Save As. Name the image and, using the drop-down box just under the name, save the file as either a JPEG or JPG file. Also, saving the image onto your desktop makes it easier to find when using our photo upload feature.
  • Note: Our database will only accept files saved in the JPEG or JPG formats. Simply renaming an image and changing the extension on the file name does not convert the image to the proper format. You must use a Save As feature on your photo editor to properly convert the image.

    If you don’t have a scanner or digital camera, you can get standard snapshots scanned for you at most photo developing centers, copy centers and business supply shops. Have the company save the file as a JPEG or JPG.

    Save the photo file to your computer’s hard drive (remember where!) using only lower-case letters in the file name. The Place an Ad feature will walk you through loading the photo along with your ad.

    You may send your photos to our customer service department at any time by emailing ads@traderinteractive.com. Please include your Ad ID, and be sure to attach your photo to the email.

Internet ads on RVTrader have various pricing levels depending upon the package you choose. We offer 3 packages to choose from. Each offer various durations and ad enhancements. 

The Place an Ad feature describes each enhancement, its cost, and allows you to pay for it immediately with a credit card. You may also mail in your payment by using a form provided in the Place an Ad feature. All ads undergo a review process before they are placed online. This process is normally completed within 24 hours.

Your ad will remain online for the duration of the package you purchased, after which time they will be automatically deleted. If you wish to renew your ad with the exact same package and enhancements you originally purchased, you may do so by logging in to your MyTrader account. You have up to 7 days after your ad expires to do so. Simply click on the “Renew My Listing” link and follow the prompts to renew your ad.

  • Simply log in to your MyTrader account using the link in the upper right corner of RVTrader.com. Once you view your listings, you have the option of selecting the “Edit Listing” link that will allow you to modify your existing ad(s). To login, you will have to have your password and user ID.

     

  • We send you this information in an email when you complete the Place An Ad form. Hold on to that email! You can also delete your ad here after you sell your RV.

Trader Interactive offers affordable, competitive pricing for advertising that provides wide exposure for the item you are selling. Effective enhancements are available to improve the chances of a buyer noticing your Ad. Trader Interactive, therefore, does not offer refunds on advertising fees once an ad has been activated.

At your request, we will:

    • Correct any mistakes we have made in the ad at no charge
    • Correct mistakes that you made during submission of the ad at no charge
    • Make enhancements to your ad for an additional charge

Trader Interactive will provide a refund only for the following reasons:

      1. Your Ad has not been posted and you wish to cancel the Ad.; OR
      2. You mistakenly ordered and paid for duplicate Ads through Trader Interactive and wish to cancel, and obtain a refund on, the duplicate(s) only. Trader Interactive will not, however, provide a refund on the original Ad.

 

Trader Interactive is not responsible for, and will not provide refunds for any other reason, including but not limited to, a change of mind regarding ad content or enhancements, or errors or omissions in ad content or enhancements. We will make every reasonable effort to satisfy our advertisers but we are not responsible for lack of response to an ad, lack of inquiries or offers to purchase the item. If the item has been sold via another means, the advertiser may cancel the ad, but will not receive a refund, either in whole or in part.

Here you will find helpful tips on how to protect yourself as an online seller.

We are aware of, in some cases, scam attempts starting with a text message.  The sender usually asks for information contained in your ad (your email address, price, condition, etc) to have you email or text them directly. The sender does this to bypass our database filters that are associated with the email seller link on your ad. Because we are unable to filter text messages directly to your phone, this is a preferred contact method for scammers. We have an opt-out option for your telephone number from appearing on your listing. If you wish to remove your phone number, you can change your preference in your MyTrader account. Click on Edit Profile and check the box to Hide your phone number.

You should contact the following authorities to report any incidence of internet scams or fraud:

In addition, you should also consider checking your local government’s website for filing Internet complaints.

We recommend that our sellers only use trusted websites to obtain a Vin report. Many of the websites that are sent for Vin Checks are newly created websites that may be used for gathering your personal information.

We also recommend that our users do not click on any link to enter personal information sent to them via email. 

A Cashier’s Check is safe but can take up to 30 days to fully clear. You should never accept an overpayment for your RV with instructions to pay the shipper or pick up agent. The buyer should be responsible for shipping/pickup arrangements. Always have your bank contact the issuing bank to verify the account and the funds are legitimate.

4 Tips for Selling Safely:

  1. Vet callers thoroughly. Always talk to the buyer by phone. Ask lots of questions of the caller. The more you engage with a caller, the more you get a feel for them.
  2. Don’t go to a meeting alone. Take someone with you and let others know where you are going.
  3. Meet in a public place. Meet in a shopping center or if your local police department has an online meeting designated spot, use that.
  4. Trust your gut. If you are not comfortable meeting with a caller, there is usually a reason why.
