Are you looking for a superfun, spacious couples camper for off-grid adventures that just might include some light overlanding? The 2027 Forest River No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode could be the travel trailer that brings your search to an end. The Beast Mode edition of the No Boundaries NB21.0 is equipped with a raised chassis and an ultracapable Curt independent suspension that can soak up bumps and smooth out your towing experience.
But the cool Beast Mode suspension system is only part of the story here. This unique travel trailer is also loaded with features and amenities you won’t find in many of its peers, especially in this category — including a unique and versatile pull-out dining table and a seven-foot-long reclining sofa that delivers loads of comfortable seating space. It’s a really distinct layout. And most of it works with the single slide-out in or out.
There’s a whole lot to the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode, so let’s dive into this unique RV and take a closer look.

I rated the 2027 Forest River No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode an 8.8 out of 10. This No Boundaries — aka “NoBo” —packs a lot of features and amenities into a capable and fun off- grid travel trailer. It’s built to last, and every inch of it appears to be constructed with craftsmanship and a sense of pride.
Still, there were a few niggling little things that I felt Forest River could have done better. Mostly, they were small things that are easy to fix — like offering a comfortable mattress that buyers won’t feel a need to replace and easier access to the bathroom when the slide is in. (Although it’s possible to get in there.) Even so, this couple’s travel trailer has a lot going for it, including all the coziness of a lakeside cabin.

Benefits
- Camp off the beaten track. With its Beast Mode suspension, this model is built to go off-grid without sustaining damage from potholes and rough roads.
- Enjoy shoulder-season camping. While not a true four-season camper, it has enclosed, forced air heated underbelly and 12-volt tank heaters. Which means that you can comfortably camp in the shoulder seasons or in the mountains without worrying about frozen plumbing or tanks.
- Seating space for friends. This is a travel traveler made to make friends. And the good news is that there’s seating space for up to six, plus a pullout sofa bed for an additional overnight guest if you’re an RV couple.
- Full access when the slide is in. If you’re tired while traveling (or just need a bathroom break), you can access the bedroom, living room, and kitchen with the slide-outs in. The bathroom may be a squeeze (more on that), but you can do it.
Challenges
- Weight and length. Towing will require a three-quarter-ton truck or better. Also, the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode is a bit long for a true overlanding trailer. Even though the back end is duck-tailed, it will still be difficult to navigate over a four-by-four road without catching it.
- Bathroom squeeze with the slide in. While not impossible (especially in an emergency), it’s a bit hard to get to the bathroom with the slide-out in.
- Window protecter needed. Glass windshield, while beautiful and a great way to bring in natural light, will require a window protector.
Best For
- Adventurous campers with towing experience who will use it in shoulder seasons to camp off-grid on BLM lands or state parks
- Couples who will use it to work remotely on extended road trips (like visiting Alaska) for two or three seasons per year.
Key Areas We Evaluate for RV Buyers
Sleeping Space: 8/10
The bedroom in the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode has dual sliding doors that create a private bedroom. (Of course, if you prefer the open space, you can leave the doors open too.) It’s always good to have an option that allows you to enjoy privacy when you have an overnight guest. The bedroom boasts a north-south, full-queen bed with a four-inch mattress that many people will want to replace with a thicker one. Both sides of the bed have CPAP-ready shelves with 110-volt outlets. In addition, there are USB ports for convenient device charging.
Each side of the bed has its own small, illuminated wardrobe. It’s perfect for jackets and shirts. Beneath the wardrobe, there are drawers for smaller items.
The highlight of this bedroom is a large, tinted front windshield that offers an opportunity to enjoy the night sky or watch a passing herd of deer or elk from the comfort of your bed. Residential-style framing around this window is a nice touch that helps the blackout shade stay in place when it’s time for bed. (But, as mentioned earlier, it will require a window protector.)
Additional sleeping space for guests is created with a fold-out sofa bed. But be advised: Friends taller five foot eight inches and taller are definitely going to be sleeping with their feet hang over the end. With that said, this is probably the only slide-out RV sofa I’ve ever seen that an adult can sleep comfortably on. Unconverted, it’s over seven feet long.
Bathroom: 9/10
The bathroom in the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode is on the small side, but it features loads of storage with two linen cabinets. The vanity features a small but very functional sink set into a thermofoil countertop. Vanity cabinet is limited, but there’s just enough room for a few cleaning supplies. For small items, including, there’s a mirrored medicine cabinet with shelves and a built-in toothbrush holder.
Even in this smallish bathroom, the porcelain toilet has plenty of space around it. So, it should be a comfortable throne for most campers. The shower is in the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode is spacious enough for most people. (Although folks over six foot two inches may have to stoop a little.) The pull-out shower door keeps water inside the shower pan. As an added bonus, a tankless water heater allows you to shower as long as you need. (At least until the 55-gallon freshwater tank is empty.)
On the subject of tank capacities, one of the neatest features in this bathroom is that this is where you’ll find tank monitors, as well as controls for fans, A/C, and more. It’s handy to know how much freshwater is left in the tank before you begin showering.
Overall, this bathroom is well-designed and nicely laid out. (Especially for a couple’s travel trailer because it doesn’t have a larger footprint than necessary, which means you get more counterspace in the kitchen instead.)
Living Area: 9/10
The living area in this edition of the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode is spacious and is part of an open concept design that includes a single slide-out with one of the longest sofas I’ve ever seen in an RV, as well as easy access to the kitchen. This sumptuously comfortable sofa reclines and has removable TV trays that include convenient beverage holders. (So, you won’t spill your drink.) This is especially important when you’re working from your recliner. However, it’s also an appreciated feature when you’re enjoying a nice meal while watching the game on the HD Smart TV that’s perfectly positioned across from the sofa. The fireplace also adds both ambience and warmth to this cozy setup.
At first glance, you may think that the breakfast bar looks pretty ordinary. But, fact is, this is the most unique breakfast bar I’ve ever seen in an RV. In front of the bar is an awning style window that opens fully, to act as a passthrough to outside. It also has an insect screen. (So you can enjoy breakfast while enjoying fresh air.) But wait, there’s more! The breakfast bar expands into a 28-inch-by-48-inch dining table too. It’s also a great spot to get some office work done, with lots of space and nearby shelves to store office necessities.
By the way, the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode is prepped for Starlink satellite too. So, you can stay connected wherever you happen to be, which is especially nice if you’re a remote worker.
Kitchen: 9/10
The kitchen in the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode features forest green cabinets with while thermofoil countertops. It’s a refreshing color combination that works well in this travel trailer. There’s oodles of cabinet space, including a floor to ceiling pantry for storing dry goods. Two power towers are located conveniently for charging devices or operating smaller kitchen appliances. Beneath the upper cabinets are thoughtfully placed cup hooks.
The No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode offers a Furrion appliance package that includes a roomy 12-volt refrigerator with the freezer above the fridge, a three-burner cooktop and a versatile microwave/air fryer/convection oven. The sink is a nice deep sink with a sink cover and a modern looking black and gold gooseneck faucet and built-in glass washer.
This L-shaped kitchen has a work triangle that simplifies cooking in a kitchen designed for effortlessly creating those delicious meals that camping memories are made of.
Four-Season Capabilities: 8/10
An enclosed, forced air heated underbelly and 12-volt tank heaters contribute to help make the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode a ready and capable RV for shoulder season or mountain camping. The 120-volt tank heaters are nice to have because this RV is designed to be taken far away from electrical services,
The cozy, electric fireplace and gas furnace mean. It’s more than capable of shoulder season camping or serving as overnight slopeside accommodation for ski trips. A 15,000-Btu air conditioner turns it into a cool oasis on hot summer days. While the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode is prepped for both cool mornings and scorching summer heat, it’s not quite a four-season off grid camper. With the exception of the ducted gas furnace, climate control appliances require connection to a 50-amp power supply.
Storage Space: 9/10
The No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode has abundant storage for two people to use it for extended camping trips. Outside, it offers a generous passthrough storage bay with motion detector lighting. In addition, there are integrated racks to set up accessories like a picnic table or 18-inch LP grill.
Inside, there are oodles of cabinets and shelves, as well as underbed storage space. I’ve already mentioned the wardrobe closers in the bedroom, but there’s also a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe closet in the main living area that could hang longer items or else be converted to more pantry storage by adding shelves.
Chassis/Suspension: 9/10
There’s a good reason they tacked Beast Mode onto the name of the No Boundaries NB21.0. This thing is an absolute beast. Lifted to add clearance, it features Curt independent suspension on all four wheels to smooth out your towing experience. This results in stable towing, even when driving over the worst pothole-ridden logging roads. In the end, this saves wear-and-tear on your trailer and should increase its longevity.
The Beast Mode edition’s tires are super aggressive Westlake Mud Legend tires that feature a heavy-duty tread pattern that’s even cooler than it looks. (And, for the record, it looks pretty cool.)
The No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode comes with a power tongue jack and manual stabilizer jacks — which are a cinch to set up with an impact driver fitted with the correct socket.
Off Grid-Sustainability: 9/10
While it’s not meant for taking on serious rock-crawling adventures, the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode was built to be taken well off the beaten path. (And to stay there for up to two weeks.) The No Boundaries NB21.0 is outfitted with generous tank sizes, 400 watts of roof-mounted solar panels, a 30-amp controller and a 2,000-watt inverter to power all of your standard AC outlets off-grid. Remote workers will appreciate having a mobile workspace that’s already prepped for Starlink.
With all that said, an off-grid RV should have a Water Miser to help with water conservation. This is one area where the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode comes up short when it comes to off-grid amenities.
Build Quality: 9/10
The No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode is a rugged travel trailer that’s built to last a long time, even if your travels take you on pot-holed roads. Laminated Azdel sidewalls and a heavy-duty aluminum framing are water repellent and impervious to moisture damage and rot. Floors in the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode are vinyl over tongue and groove plywood. It’s something you don’t see very often in travel trailers in this price range.
Value: 9/10
With an MSRP that’s over $68,000, the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode isn’t the cheapest travel trailer on the lot. However, its overall great build quality and chassis construction make it an RV that will outlast many others, especially if you take it down rough roads on a regular basis. It has a wealth of floor space and all the necessary amenities for comfortable off-grid living for three seasons. It could also double as a mobile ski chalet from time to time too. With all that in mind, this model offers well-above-average value.

The 2027 Forest River No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode is just as fun as its name sounds. It’s equipped with everything you need to get far away from home without missing a thing. Aside from its rugged good looks, the No Boundaries NB21.0 Beast Mode has a great layout with a big slide-out that creates a lot of space. If you’re looking for a rugged but well-equipped travel trailer that can handle rough roads without falling apart, you’ll want to put this travel trailer on your short list.
