The luxuriously well-appointed Tiffin Motorhomes Open Road Allegro 34PA has long been a favorite with both RV full timers and families who like to explore together. And after looking at the new 2027 model, it’s not hard to see why. Whether you’re searching for an elegant couples coach (with sleeping space for guests), or you want to pack up the kids to experience the American continent first hand, the 2027 Tiffin Motorhomes Open Road Allegro 34PA has much to offer.
On the exterior, it’s appeal is fully evident with full body paint, square gallery style windows, and loads of storage in bays with side-opening doors. Inside, the Open Road Allegro 34PA boasts a spacious layout, with generous cabinet storage throughout. Almost everything in this motorhome is so well-executed, you might not want to go home. (Consider yourself warned.)

I rated the 2027 Tiffin Motorhomes Open Road Allegro 34PA 8.4 out of 10. One of the reasons this motorhome is so popular is that it’s built on a gas-powered, single-axle Ford F-53 chassis. This Class A boasts a spacious interior with all the amenities most RV families are looking for. However, its 36-foot length and single-rear axle make it easy for most people to drive and park. Like all Tiffin Class A RVs, it’s loaded with luxurious features and well thought-out amenities along with plenty of storage for family adventures.
Being gas-powered, it should make it for owners to fill up. Unfortunately, the opposite might be true for the on-board propane tank, as refilling stations are becoming increasing hard to find.

- Family-friendly. There’s lots of room for a small crowd without excessive length. (Owing to four opposing slide-outs.) There’s also extra sleeping space (for two) and lots of storage space for everyone’s clothing and gear. All of which should maximize the fun on family road trips.
- Luxurious amenities. There’s a washer-dryer, a TV on a lift, and a family-sized refrigerator, just to give a few examples.
Challenges
- Limited towing capacity. If you’re looking to tow a vehicle behind this model, the 5,000-pound towing capacity will limit how heavy it can be.
- Squeezing into certain campsites. Fitting into smaller campsites could be a challenge — especially for those with limited experience driving a rig this size. At 36 feet, the Open Road Allegro 34PA could be a a tight fit — or just a little too long — for some campsites.
- Filling the on-board propane tank. Propane refilling stations equipped to fill on-board propane tanks are becoming hard to find.

Key Areas We Evaluate for RV Buyers
Sleeping Space: 8/10
The cozy bedroom in the Open Road Allegro 34PA offers a walkaround east-west, king bed with storage underneath. Also, to each side, there are CPAP-ready nightstands with USB posts, USB-C ports, and 110-volt power. Likewise, each side of the bed gets an independent reading light.
Those who enjoy watching their favorite shows in bed will appreciate the corner smart TV over a bedroom entertainment center with multiple drawers and a two-door cabinet. On the driver’s side wall are mirrored wardrobes for hanging storage along with drawers and a hamper. (It’s always nice to have a place for dirty laundry.) Cabinets over the bed are a handy place to stash books or anything else you want to tidy away.
The living room also transforms into a sleeping space for kids or guests. At the touch of a button, a queen bed to descends from the area over the cockpit. Kids would have so much fun sleeping in this fort-like space. (On a side note, I was unable to locate the key that’s needed to power the bed, so I was unable to operate it and fully test it.)
Bathroom: 8/10
The bathroom in the Open Road Allegro 34PA has dual entry points, so you can get to it from either the master bedroom or the main area of the coach. This offers convenience for those traveling with a family or hosting overnight guests. Having two entry points allows it to function as a private en suite, as well as a family bathroom.
The vanity is on the driver’s side, with a porcelain sink mounted beneath a solid-surface countertop. The macerator toilet is well-placed. There’s plenty of room around it. And the shower in this floorplan is so big it feels very residential. Conveniently, it has thoughtfully placed grab bars to help those with mobility challenges. Tall people will certainly appreciate the generous ceiling height here.
Storage space in this bathroom is exceptional, with plenty of cupboards and drawers, door-mounted towel bars on the door, by the sink, and in the shower.
Those traveling with the family will appreciate the convenience of having a stacking washer-dryer in the bathroom. Outside, there’s a hot and cold shower, perfect for washing dirty feet or muddy paws.\
Living Area: 9/10
All seating in the living area of the Open Road Allegro 34PA is upholstered in cream-colored ultraleather that’s easy to wipe clean. The front seats swivel around to become recliners facing the twin-power recliner/theater seats in the living room. A 50-inch LED smart TV on a lift is located directly across from the theater seats, which makes for optimal viewing. And there’s a cozy central fireplace to to the right as you’re relaxing in the theater seats.
A versatile, solid-surface dining table is perfect for meals for up to four people. However, it could also become a functional workspace as needed. Not only that, but the TV could serve as a huge monitor. Of course, you can simple lower it out of the way, if you prefer to have a view out the window while you work.
In addition, the 20-foot-long power awning offers additional sheltered living space.
Kitchen: 8/10
Traveling with a troop of hungry campers means you’ll need lots of food. There’s plenty of storage in two pantries. This includes one pull-out pantry and another big cabinet with three roomy shelves over the fireplace. There are also plenty of drawers and cabinets for storing cooking tools, small appliances, dishes, et cetera. Perishables (and ice cream!) can be stored in a 22-cubic-foot, residential-style refrigerator/freezer. The galley-style kitchen has a lot going for it. This includes generous workspace in solid surface counters, a three-burner gas cooktop, and an LG convection microwave that’s big enough to cook Sunday dinner for a crowd.
The kitchen offers a simple, two-bowl sink with a gracefully arching pull-down faucet. The sink has a two-part cover on it that helps to create more counter space. When I went to remove the left side of the cover, I was surprised to find it was stuck in place, so I couldn’t. This was a shame, because the rest of the Open Road Allegro 34PA showed wonderfully. This might have been due to hurried completion of the unit, installing the sink cover before caulking around the sink dried. With that said, I confess that it did make me wonder if there were less obvious deficiencies in an otherwise beautiful RV.
One critique is that I do lament the absence of a dishwater. Sure, that feature is not standard in motorhomes, but for its price, I would expect one to keep you from washing dishes by hand.)
Four-Season Capabilities: 8/10
There’s no doubt that the Open Road Allegro 34PA was designed to be enjoyed in all but the coldest weather. Its robust insulation package includes 5.5 inches of rooftop insulation, along with insulated and heated basement storage. This helps regulate temperatures inside the RV whether it’s hot or cold outside.
The Open Road Allegro 34PA is equipped for cold weather with a 30,000-Btu furnace and 12-volt tank heaters. However, most people will be using this RV in summer — or for chasing warm weather. So, it’s also equipped with two 13,500-Btu rooftop air conditioners. All of these appliances are controlled via four touchpads conveniently located throughout the coach.
Storage Space: 10/10
Tiffin Motorhomes really does storage well. And the 2027 Open Road Allegro 34PA is no exception. Outside, there’s an abundance of side-opening cabinets for stashing outdoor gear, camping equipment, and more. I love that Tiffin uses side-opening doors here. It makes accessing stored items much easier when clearance is tight.
Inside, they have done a fantastic job of taking advantage of every conceivable space and creating storage from it in hardwood cabinets and drawers.
Chassis/Suspension: 8/10
The Open Road Allegro 34PA sits on a robust Ford F-53 chassis that features a Ford V8 7.3L, 350 HP gas-engine with 468 pounds-foot torque. (This is popularly called the “Godzilla” engine.) Because a common problem with this chassis is body roll, Tiffin Motorhomes has taken care of that with a rear sway bar to help create a more stable ride and more confident handling.
Cockpit: 9/10
The cockpit of the Open Road Allegro 34PA is luxuriously comfortable and well laid out. Both driver and front passenger get a power adjustable seat and a great view of the road. The passenger gets a footrest too. A detachable touch screen with Bluetooth connectivity is great for either passenger or driver side navigation, including camera monitoring.
Off-Grid/Sustainability: 8/10
One of the neat things about gas-powered RVs is that they tend to ride higher than their diesel counterparts. This makes them more practical than diesel pushers for venturing beyond RV parks and getting off-grid. Aside from this basic ability, the Open Road Allegro 34PA has a host of other features to help maintain a comfortable lifestyle when you take it boondocking. This starts with generous tank capacities, as well as a Water Miser in the shower to help conserve water.
Of course, off-grid life is a lot more comfortable when you have access to power. With that in mind, Tiffin Motorhomes kitted out the Open Road Allegro 34PA with two 200-amp rooftop solar panels, each with a 30-amp controller. Power is stored in four six-volt, 230-amp-hour flooded lead-acid house batteries. But that’s not all! There’s also a 5,500-watt Onan generator that can provide enough power to run the two rooftop air conditioners.
The reality for many boondocking families these days is that connecting to the internet is vital, both for entertaining the kids and working remotely. Tiffin Motorhomes has prepped this RV for satellite internet.
Value: 8/10
Overall, the 2027 Tiffin Motorhomes Open Road Allegro 34AP offers good value, especially for families looking for an RV that can transition into a couple’s RV when the kids have outgrown camping with mom and dad. It’s also well-equipped to be a great home on wheels for full-time RV living. All that being said, for this amount of money, I did expect to see a dishwasher in the kitchen.
