Have you been searching for a well-built couple’s travel trailer that you can tow with a half-ton? Well, the impressive 2026 Ember E-Series 22MLQ might be the RV that ends your search. This well-executed, under-30-foot travel trailer pulls out all the stops when it comes to glamping amenities.
The E-Series 22MLQ manages to pack features like a walkaround, residential queen bed, comfy theater seats, and loads of storage into a very towable dual-axle, 27-foot trailer. Unlike many trailers in its size class, this model doesn’t feel cramped or confined. With 6-foot-10-inch ceilings and 8-foot width, the interior of this RV actually feels roomy for two comfortable and happy campers.
So, why don’t we take a closer look at all the details?

I rated the 2026 Ember RV E-Series 22MLQ 8.7 out of 10. This model is meant to be a couple’s travel trailer ,and it does this very well. There’s comfortable sleeping and storage space for two people, plus a kitchen that covers all the bases and a well-laid-out bathroom are enough to give the E-Series 22MLQ an edge over most other travel trailers in its class.
Ember RV has also done a great job with build quality here, putting the 22MLQ on a solid chassis with a bump-soaking suspension that should help it go off-grid and still outlast most other travel trailers in its class. Overall, value here is good, but with an MSRP of close to $50,000, the E-Series 22MLQ is priced higher than I expect — especially for a sub-30-foot travel trailer. For that price, I felt the backup camera and solar power package should be standard equipment.

Benefits
- Lightweight and easy to tow. The E-Series 22MLQ is light enough to tow with a half-ton pickup or large SUV. That makes it well-suited both for campers new to towing and veterans who don’t want to upgrade their tow vehicle.
- Great access and no Murphy. Murphy beds are great for many campers, but they are not particular ideal for full-timers. who don’t want to have to put away the bed each day. Here, there’s a walkaround bed plus leeping space for a guest. Additionally, in the E-Series 22MLQ, everything is accessible with the slide-out in.
- Great views. Rear kitchen enjoys a view of the (often more scenic) back of the campsite. Lots of campers will love this.
- Tough but tasteful. Ember RV is an expert at balancing pragmatism and style. The E-Series may be chic enough for glamping, but it’s also full of tough easy-to-clean surfaces. It also offers big holding tanks and the ability to enjoy four-season camping.
Challenges
- Bed placement. Sure, for full-timers, there’s no Murphy. But, even so, the bed is right by the front door as you walk in. This could be awkward if you have guests over.
- Solar package not standard. Solar panels or backup camera are optional in the E-Series 22MLQ, but at this price, it feels like they should be standard.
- Low airfyer placement. The placement of the airfryer/microwave/convection oven below the counter could make it difficult for some to use.
- No EmberTrack storage area. Unlike other Ember trailers, there’s no toy room in this model — which might be disappointing if you’ve already been introduced to the innovative EmberTrack system.
Best For
- Big holding tanks and a robust suspension make the 22MLQ a good choice for couples or solo campers who want to camp off grid, at state parks, and on BLM land
- Four-season features make it a great choice for couples or solo campers who want to use it for accommodation on weekend (or longer) ski trips or other winter activities
Key Areas We Evaluate for RV Buyers
Sleeping Space: 8/10
The main sleeping space in the E-Series 22MLQ is a 60-inch-by-80-inch, residential queen bed at the front of the RV. Each side of the bed has its own CPAP-ready pocket shelf with a 110-volt outlet, as well as USB ports for overnight charging of devices. Both sides of the bed also have an amber lamp with its own switch for bedtime reading. Beneath the bed, cavernous storage space awaits to keep all the things that you need that don’t get used all that often. In case you feel you need more privacy, you can pull a privacy curtain around to create a cozy, private space.
Overnight guests can camp out on the sleeper dinette, which features a simple deployment mechanism that transforms it quickly into a bed. I love that Ember RV uses magnets to hold dinette cushions in place, instead of velcro, which always seems to wear out over time and use.
The sleeping space in the E-Series 22MLQ floorplan is a great option for those of us (full-timers especially) who balk at the thought of having to deal with a Murphy bed when we’re camping. The only drawback to this, of course, is that when anyone steps into the RV, they’re in your bedroom. In case that bothers you, Ember RV supplies a stylishly elegant curtain that can be drawn around the sleeping space.
Bathroom: 9/10
The bathroom in the Ember 22MLQ is small, but there’s lots of elbow room on the porcelain toilet. There’s also tons of storage for an RV bathroom this size. The shower is 30 inches by 60 inches with lots of headroom for taller folks. There’s also a tankless water heater, so you won’t run out of warm water in the middle of your shower.
Ember RV put in some nice touches here, including the use of every available space to provide storage. There’s a linen cabinet for towels, et cetera, and shelves for smaller items (like spare toilet paper rolls) within reach of the toilet. A medicine cabinet over the vanity provides storage for small items, while the large vanity cabinet below the stainless-steel sink has ample room for cleaning supplies. Another neat feature here is that Ember RV has installed a toilet paper holder, a towel ring, and a towel bar. (This is something I wish more RV manufacturers would do.)
Altogether, Ember RV did a great job designing this bathroom. Even though it’s small, thoughtful use of space ensures that it has everything you want in an RV bathroom. Namely, a porcelain toilet with lots of elbow room, plenty of storage space, and ample room in the shower.
Living Area: 8/10
The E-Series 22MLQ offers a 32-inch, 12-volt TV that offers the option to operate from your house batteries when you’re camping off grid. Each of the two reclining theater seats across from it have big cup holders that hold oversized snack trays that could be used as additional work space. Additionally, there’s a legless dinette with plugins on each bench seat, making it an ideal location to serve as a mobile work space.
The only possible negative thing I can say about the living area is that the TV will be a little high for some people’s liking. With that said, everybody will have a different take on this. I’d love to see the TV on a mount that could adjust the angle or height of the TV to whatever works best for the viewer.
And there’s more sheltered living space outside under a big, 18-foot power awning that stretches out from the side of the RV. It’s a perfect spot to sit in the shade while you reminisce about the day’s events over a cold beverage or two.
Kitchen: 9/10
If you like counter space, you’re going to love the kitchen in the E-Series 22MLQ. This L-shaped kitchen offers tons of counter space for prepping meals. Tucked conveniently into the corner of the “L” is a generous sink surrounded by windows that let in both natural light and a view of the prettiest end of the campsite.
Additional counter space between the two-burner cooktop and 10.6-cubic-foot refrigerator provides additional workspace. Beneath the counter is a very versatile airfryer/microwave/convection oven that’s just the right size to bake bread or cook a meal for two. While it’s no lower than a traditional oven, the placement of the airfryer/microwave/convection might make it difficult to use for those with mobility challenges.
The Ember 22MLQ’s kitchen is very well-executed with a nice work triangle. Unlike many under 30-foot travel trailers, this floorplan offers abundant storage for food, dishes, and cooking and baking necessities in generous drawers and deep cabinets. It’s really impressive how Ember RV designers tucked storage into every possible place-even under the fridge, where there’s a great drawer that could be used to store pet dishes and supplies.
Four-Season Capabilities: 8/10
Ember RV outfits all of its RVs to be fully set up for four-season camping. The E-Series 22MLQ features a whisper-quiet, 18,000-Btu Furrion Chill Cube air conditioner that’s more than capable of seamlessly cooling the whole RV when it’s hot out. (I’ll add that air conditioners of this size are practically unheard of in this size travel trailer.)
With that said, the E-Series 22MLQ also comes fully equipped for comfortable camping when colder temperatures arrive. In addition to its 30,000-Btu furnace, this travel trailer boasts a fully enclosed and heated underbelly with radiant barrier insulation. Its designed keeps floors cozy and tanks flowing, even in subzero temperatures. Enclosed tank valves and 12-volt tank heaters make this RV a perfect choice for winter camping adventures.
Storage Space: 9/10
One area where many mid-size travel trailers fall short on is storage space. That isn’t the case with the E-Series 22MLQ though. Ember RV has packed an impressive amount of storage into this RV. Storage starts on the outside with a big passthrough storage area for storing camping supplies and other outdoor gear. At the back of the RV, a two-inch hitch receiver is strong enough to transport a bike rack with e-bikes or a cargo carrier full of firewood. Inside, Ember RV has really taken advantage of every available space with a wealth of cabinets and drawers everywhere. Finding places to park shoes is one of the biggest challenges in most RV floorplans. Not here though.
One of my favorite storage features in the E-Series 22MLQ is the huge shoe storage area under the dinette bench seat that’s accessible from the entryway. This would be a handy spot to stash a couple of baskets or totes to hold footwear. However, it’s also accessible from the top, just by lifting the dinette bench seat. It’s an innovative solution for an age-old problem that affects most RVs.
But in addition to clever storage for footwear, the E-Series 22MLQ offers lots of storage for clothing in wardrobes on each side of the bed, drawers, as well as generous cabinets over the bed. But it doesn’t end there. Ember RV has tucked cabinet storage into this RV everywhere you look . That means off-grid camping doesn’t have to mean “roughing it” without the things that make you happy.
Chassis/Suspension: 9/10
The E-Series 22MLQ rides on beefy Goodyear Endurance tires and dual Dexter axles with E-Z lube hubs that make repacking bearings easy as pie. While it’s not designed for overlanding, the E-Series 22MLQ will be more than capable of accessing most state park, national park, and BLM campsites, which is what most people will want it for. However, the suspension system is a step down from what is found in Ember RV’s Overland Series.
Off-Grid/Sustainability: 9/10
Without mincing words, Ember RV is really good at building travel trailers that will take you down the beaten path and beyond. That said, tank sizes are enough to get two people through about fuve days at an out of the way off grid campsite without having to worry about filling or emptying tanks.
Optioning in the off 400-watt, off-grid solar package is a no-brainer here because the E-Series 22MLQ offers a 12-volt refrigerator that can be powered exclusively by solar energy. Having the upgraded solar package would turn this RV from a really nice travel trailer into a phenomenal off-grid tiny home on wheels. That said, I’d love to see Ember RV include the 400-watt solar power package in the list of standard equipment for this RV.
Build Quality: 9/10
Compared to other travel trailers in this category, the build quality of the E-Series 22MLQ is outstanding. Aluminum-framed sidewall construction and aluminum framed laminated floor, and solid MORryde adjustable entry steps contribute to an RV that is well-designed and built from start to finish.
Value: 8/10
First off, the E-Series 22MLQ is a very well-designed and built RV that’s perfect for either couples or solos. With nice amenities and careful construction , it’s designed to last though many getaways. Add to that the fact that it’s built for year-round use, and you have a trailer that provides excellent all-around value, especially when you compare it to similarly priced 2026 RVs.
Closing Notes on the E-Series 22MLQ
The Ember RV E-Series 22MLQ could very well be the ideal travel trailer for couples or solos whether they’re new to RV life or ready to downsize from a family-sized RV. Even though it’s not designed for overlanding, this glampy model is still rugged enough to get to almost any boondocking destination with style and finesse.
