Anyone looking to upgrade from a travel trailer to a luxurious fifth wheel is likely facing a common dilemma: That upgrade may require you to trade in your half-ton for a larger truck. So, when a fifth wheel that sidesteps that problem, it’s attention-grabbing. And if that is what you’re looking for, the 2026 Grand Design RV Reflection 150 Series 295RL certainly has a lot to turn your head.
As one of Grand Design RV’s 150 Series, it’s designed to be towed by a half-ton. Even so, that doesn’t mean it’s short on luxury. As a matter of fact, the Reflection 150 Series 295RL is packed with sumptuous amenities and cool features. There’s also plenty of storage space, making it a good choice for cross-country road trips and other extended uses.
Without a doubt, this luxurious and elegant fifth wheel has a lot going for it, even if there are a few things I felt they could have done better. Let’s talk about it all and get rolling with this review!
At a Glance: Reflection 150 Series 295RL
I rated the 2026 Grand Design RV Reflection 150 Series 295RL a t 9.0 out of 10. Overall, it is a beautiful RV. The suspension and pin box are what make it towable by half-tons with adequate payload capacity. However, be advised: That doesn’t mean it is safely towable by all half-tons. (So, check your pickup’s payload capacity closely.)
The Reflection 150 Series 295RL has a lot of amenities inside that make it a good choice for anyone looking for a lower-priced fifth wheel but still want to enjoy the luxury of a higher-end RV. Grand Design RV obviously put a lot of effort into building a lot of value into the Reflection 150 Series 295RL. (Solid-surface counters in the bathroom would have been in keeping with this.) However, the fit and finish in this RV are generally very impressive.

Key Areas We Evaluate for RV Buyers
Sleeping Space: 8/10
The bedroom at the front of the Reflection 150 Series 295RL boasts a big, comfy king-size bed that has CPAP-ready night table cabinets on both sides. Each side of the bed also gets its own reading light, plus 110-volt and USB charging ports. Over the bed, cabinets offer oodles of storage space for personal items. Beneath the bed, I was happy to find a big, furniture-grade storage area for storing all the necessities that you don’t always need access to. A small wardrobe on the wall across from the foot of the bed provides hanging storage for shirts and jackets, as well as drawers for storing smaller items. In addition, there’s a cubby beneath the drawers that offers a perfect spot to store shoes.
The bedroom in the Reflection 150 Series 295RL is prepped for a TV, but you have to bring your own mount and TV. Honestly, with the low cost of LED TVs these days, I was surprised that a TV wasn’t added here. Still, the bedroom in the Reflection 295RL is well-executed overall. I love that there is no carpet here, and that both windows open to allow fresh air in while you sleep.
A sofa that transforms quickly into a comfortable queen bed will help overnight guests feel welcome.
Bathroom: 9/10
Bathroom access in the Reflection 150 Series 295RL is through a space-saving sliding door. Usage of space here is very economical. This little bathroom offers abundant storage space in a cabinet over the porcelain toilet, beneath the vanity, and in the medicine cabinet. There are three deep drawers in the vanity, perfect for storing items like hair brushes, et cetera.
I’m happy to tell you that the shower in this bathroom is roomy, with lots of head space. Not only that, but the shower skylight offers even more! And you won’t need to worry about installing your own towel bars in this bathroom, because Grand Design RV has already installed them. There’s both a towel bar and a hand towel ring in this bathroom.
The one drawback in this otherwise great bathroom is the Thermofoil countertop on the vanity. An RV bathroom is a moist environment. This is especially true if someone takes a shower and forgets to turn on the overhead vent fan. With that said, I’d love to see a solid-surface counter in this bathroom.
Living Area: 10/10
The living area in the Reflection 150 Series 295RL has seating for up to five on a comfortable, three-seat sofa and two reclining theater seats that face a 42-inch LED TV over a cozy electric fireplace. A fold-down arm in the theatre seats contains USB chargers and two beverage holders. The living room offers oodles of storage space in cabinets over the sofa, as well as in end tables on either side of the sofa. However, there’s even more in the cabinets that surround the entertainment center.
Overnight guests are easy to accommodate in this RV. Because the sofa transforms very quickly into a queen bed, providing additional sleeping space whenever needed.
Outside, there are two big awnings that expand to provide additional sheltered living space — that’s perfect for enjoying cold beverages with friends on a sunny day.
Kitchen: 8/10
The light, bright kitchen in the Reflection 150 Series 295RL surrounds a large island with an oversized farmhouse-style sink and a pull-down spray faucet. Nice surprises here are the built in flatware organizer and pull out waste bin in the island. This kitchen also offers generous storage space in cabinets, drawers, and a big pantry that’s conveniently located next to the living area for easy access to snacks on movie nights.
There’s also a coffee bar that offers a lot more storage in cabinets and drawers, plus two 110-volt outlets that could be used for charging devices or plugging in small appliances. A built in paper towel holder keeps paper towels within easy reach.
Camp chefs will love the appliance package in this kitchen. Cooking appliances in the Reflection 150 Series 295RL include a residential Furrion microwave, a three-burner gas cooktop, and a mid-size oven. There’s also a 12-volt refrigerator/freezer that offers 11 cubic feet of cold storage for beverages and perishable foods.
On the opposite side of the island,, the legless dining area seats four comfortably on two chairs and a bench style storage ottoman. Surrounded on two sides by panoramic windows, diners get a front row seat to nature. The ottoman can easily be moved into the living room when needed. One of the neatest things here is that the table swivels and becomes a work area that has a prime view from an expansive window.
Overall, the kitchen in the Reflection 150 Series 295RL is well-appointed and efficient. It surrounds the island, so everything is just one or two steps away. This keeps everything accessible, while offering plenty of workspace.
Four-Season Capabilities: 9/10
The Reflection 150 Series 295RL is a truly capable four-season camper. It boasts a great insulation package that includes R40 insulation in the ceiling and R30 insulation in the floor. In addition, its enclosed, heated underbelly and 12-volt tank heaters will help keep tanks from freezing when temperatures drop below freezing. Utilities and valves are safely tucked away in the passthrough storage bay too. Inside, the 30,000-Btu furnace and electric fireplace keep things warm and cozy in winter.
Storage Space: 9/10
There is enough storage space in the Reflection 150 Series 295RL to hit the road on an extended road trip. Let’s start outside where there’s a big cabinet under the front cap that’s prepped for a generator. There’s also a large heated passthrough storage area that contains USB ports for charging devices and 110-volt plugins along with utilities and a hot/cold shower. Inside the Reflection 150 Series 295RL, there’s tons of cabinet storage in hardwood cabinets and drawers. Notably, the kitchen features a large pantry, as well as a coffee bar that offers additional cabinet storage.
Cabinets and drawers are well-constructed. Hardwood drawer fronts and soft close cabinet doors offer durability and add to the residential ambience of this fifth wheel. I was impressed by the nicely finished cavernous storage space under the bed, which is outfitted with pneumatic rods. (That means you don’t need to hold the bed up with one hand while you’re accessing stored stuff.)
Chassis/Suspension: 10/10
The Reflection 150 Series 295RL offers one of the best towing packages I’ve seen in this class of fifth wheel. It includes a very capable Curt coil spring suspension system and Curt Helux pin box that soaks up bumps and wind turbulence. (So, you can tow with a lot less white knuckling.) The Reflection 150 Series 295RL is carried by sharp looking aluminum wheels kitted out with E-rated tires. Another neat feature is the curved front cap to help reduce the chance of damage when you have to make a tight turn.
Off-Grid/Sustainability: 8/10
The Reflection 150 Series 295RL is equipped for basic off-grid use, but you’d need to add an inverter to enjoy amenities like air conditioning, electric fireplace, or 110-volt outlets. It comes standard with a 370-watt, roof-mounted solar panel, a 60-amp charge controller, and inverter prep. This setup is enough to keep the house battery charged and power the 12-volt refrigerator, as well as other components on the 12-volt system. If you need more power, quick connects make it easy to add solar panels. However, the Reflection 150 Series 295RL also comes prepped for a generator. So, there’s another option for off-grid electricity.
The Reflection 150 Series 295RL’s generous tank capacities are enough to last two people seven to ten days before the freshwater tank needs to be filled and the waste tanks emptied. With that said, while the Reflection 150 Series 295RL would be comfortable for a night or two off-grid, it’s really designed for full hookups. (That’s not to say it wouldn’t be simple to upgrade the 295RL with an inverter and a few more solar panels for off-grid use.)
Build Quality: 9/10
Overall, the Reflection 150 Series 295RL has superior build quality to a lot of other RVs in its class. Power leveling and a TPMS system are just the beginning of what makes this fifth wheel special. The interior features hardwood cabinetry, solid-surface countertops, and motion detector lights inside the pantry are in keeping with the noteworthy build quality throughout the Reflection 150 Series 295RL. But aside from having a wealth of features, the meticulous craftsmanship in this RV makes it stand apart from similarly priced fifth wheels. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t find anything that didn’t appear to be made with an eye for detail. It all adds up to an RV that’s made to stand the tests of time and road trips.
Value: 10/10
All told, there are plenty of nice little touches in the Reflection 150 Series 295RL. Examples are LED strip lights under both power awnings, lights under the entry steps, and motion detecting lights on the interior steps. Combined with a fit and finish that’s no less than excellent, the result is a fifth wheel that offers excellent value for couples or solo travelers looking for their first fifth wheel trailer.
Closing Notes on the Reflection 150 Series 295RL
The Reflection 150 Series 295RL offers a lot of nice amenities in a floorplan that feels incredibly spacious. Big, panoramic windows on two slide outs directly across from one another, light colors and elegant, clean lines help to minimize clutter, contributing to a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. If you’re looking for a fifth wheel that offers a lot of luxury but lets you keep your half-ton, the Reflection 150 Series 295RLL could be the RV that ends your search.
