It seems that fame (and the fortune that may come with it) also has another side effect — gifting vehicles. Perhaps one of the most famous examples of this may have been Elvis Presley, who famously gifted of Cadillacs. But over the recent holidays, the CMA award-winning country singer Riley Green put his own spin on it — giving his parents a new RV for Christmas.
The Costume Contest
The singer — who won three CMA Awards in 2025, recently released a third album, and was named the “Sexiest Country Star” by People Magazine. — has been hosting an annual Christmas costume event for some time now with prizes for the costumes. This year’s prize was an RV.
In an Instagram post, Green’s mother, Karen, shared that “We won the GRAND PRIZE at the 2nd annual RV Christmas costume party!” Green’s parents dressed as Ralphie’s parents from the 1983 movie “A Christmas Story.”
The Elvis Precedent
We don’t know if Riley Green will continue the trend he started with his parents — awarding an RV. Elvis certainly didn’t limit his altruism to family. (And, in fairness, Gaines’s parents did win a contest to be awarded the RV.) But the King of Rock and Roll was far more unrestrained. In 1966, he bought Cadillacs for his bodyguards. Then he bought another for his hair stylist. And then two white ones for a couple of friends. And another white one for his personal valet. Then a maroon one for another friend. Later, he bought one each for his karate and taekwondo instructors.
