Evergreen RVs is now a defunct RV company, though it was originally founded in 2008. Once based in Middlebury, Indiana, the company was known for its line of fifth wheels, toy haulers, and travel trailers.
The company abruptly closed its doors in 2016, after announcing earlier in the year it was expanding production operations by moving its Skyline RV operations to Middlebury from Bristol, Indiana. At that time, it was said the move would allow Evergreen to retool the Bristol facility as part of a larger production expansion project. Evergreen had acquired Skyline RV from Skyline Corp. in 2014.
The company closed down as a result of an inability to secure the necessary finances to continue operations, despite the fact that they had also reported in early 2016 that sales of their I-GO line had increased 104% in 2015.
Shortly after the company announced its closure, another company, Dutchmen Manufacturing purchased the Middlebury production plant. Dutchmen is a unit of Thor Industries Inc.'s Keystone RV company subsidiary. The plant was purchased with the intent of adding production space for the Goshen-based Dutchmen, a manufacturer of travel trailers and fifth wheels.
Even though Evergreen RVs is no longer producing new models, there are still several used models available for sale. In addition to the Evergreen and Skyline RV brand, Evergreen RVs also produced the Lifestyle Luxury brand.
